NEW ALBUM RELEASE: “Jalousie” 14th of September on decurio.
Announcing the release of my 11th album, “Jalousie”, I’m immensely excited to be celebrating the 100th anniversary of one of the most significant compositions of the 20th century.

Tango Jalousie, composed by the danish composer Jacob Gade, was originally introduced as accompaniment to the screening of a silent film but went on to become a worldwide megahit which has been performed and recorded in countless formats.

On our album is both the original cinema orchestration of Tango Jalousie and the symphonic version which gave the piece its world fame in 1935 when recorded by Boston Pops.   The album is recorded and curated together with dear friend and highly esteemed artists, conductor Nabil Shehata, and Philharmonie Südwestfalen who engaged themselves in this recorded with great enthusiasm.   The album is presented in its physical form with all-new exciting linernotes by Gade-expert Toke Lund Christiansen, giving a great depiction of the man and composer Jacob Gade.  Stay tuned for single releases, direct-to-disc videos and documentaries over the month to come.

Celebrating one of the greatest names and jazz, violinist Svend Asmussen, his original material is basis for this record, flanked by my own jazz arrangement of Tango Jalousie, created together with my three friends.

A great honour to be considered by such an esteemed jury at Der Deutschen Shallplattenkritik to receive the award for our recording as Trio Vitruvi and friends, featuring fantastic colleagues and friends Hartmut Rohde and Nabil Shehata, playing masterpieces by Brahms and Schubert. Out of so many great recordings made by longtime established artists, it is quite the privileged that our take on the 3rd piano quartet by Brahms and the Piano Quintet “Trout” by Schubert deserves this attention.
